Inside Trew Mullen's Camera Roll From the Set of 'The Moment'
The New York–based actor takes us behind the scenes of Charli XCX’s new mockumentary. Between rain-soaked shoots and early mornings filming, no two days looked the same.
For Trew Mullen, playing Ana, Charli XCX’s control-freak assistant in Aidan Zamiri’s The Moment, meant stepping into a character who’s always one step ahead. Seeing the world through Ana’s lens made her more aware of the small rituals we use to feel steady, too. And even far from her NYC apartment, she still felt at home. “We spent a lot of time filming in cars, driving through London in the rain, and it felt oddly familiar,” she tells us. “I think most of us have looked out a window at some point and imagined the radio was scoring our lives.” Below, she takes us behind the scenes: from that one sushi scene to everything in-between.
“East London, early.”
“We still play with dollies.”
“Car scenes are my favorite. Heating included.”
“What’s upstairs?”
“Scene 15B: sushi.”
“This looks like a nightmare I once had.”
“Sean Price Williams.”
“Rosie’s new book.”
“London did its part.”
“Still warm.”
“In rehearsal.”
“A kind one.”
“Don’t tell him.”
“Corridor choreography.”
“Huddling up between takes.”
“Riding home.”
