Sophia Ziskin’s Coachella Do’s and Don’ts
Too hot to think straight? We've got you.
It’s that time of year again, when pop stans, brand-trip girls, and people who “don’t even like festivals” somehow all end up in Indio, California, running on nothing but depleted electrolytes and vibes.
Sophia Ziskin, who performs under the moniker Fifi, has been doing the desert circuit long enough to know her way around a lineup. This year, find her behind the decks on the Do LaB stage, where she first had her music epiphany as a teen. Her secret to surviving? It all boils down to what you do—and don’t do.
“Do go with people on the same wavelength.”
“Don’t drink and drive!!!!”
“Do eat carbs. Pizza every day. I’m not kidding, it saves me every year. Nothing worse than being starving in the desert.”
“Don’t bring your boyfriend or situationship—obviously.”
“Do tan during the day to re-center your vibe. I love to spend the day baking in the sun before heading to the festival. It makes your skin glow.”
“Don’t skip an artist you wanna see ’cause your friends don’t want to. Just meet up with them again later. It’s fun to go see sets alone.”
“Do spend as much time as you can in the DoLab and the Yuma tent. This is where I had my dance music awakening when I was 14.”
“Don’t care and don’t hate on Coachella. If you hate anything about Coachella you are a loser! Hot people, good music, weird situations, desert heat. Best vibes. Just enjoy it!”
