What’s your most mysterious notes app entry?
I’m not sure it’s that mysterious, but sometimes I doodle on my phone when I have no signal.
How do you choose the right medium for an idea?
I try to treat an idea like a living thing, so confining it to one medium feels reductive. If you take it and make it in a million different ways, you flesh it out and give it dimension, character and a soul. An idea can be something specific, but most of the time I find it’s like a cell waiting to multiply and mutate.
Do you have a digital version of a junk drawer?
I’m a very visual person, so I like to use Figma as a second brain to keep track of everything going on in my mind. I call them my “life boards.” I’m naturally a very disorganised person, though, so they look kind of scary. One time I showed someone my Figma, and they got so freaked out by my obsessive documentation that they never spoke to me again.
What first sparked your interest in U.I. design?
I usually just tell people that when I was younger I wanted to become an artist, but I didn’t know the name for the type of art I wanted to make, so I said U.I. designer instead and had to stick with that. Recently, I’ve been trying to make more things that I keep to myself and make no money from. It’s so tempting to share everything you make and feed your online presence, but I think it’s better for the soul when you selfishly create and nurture your inner world. There’s nothing better than keeping secrets.

What’s the oldest file you still have on your computer?
According to my Recents folder, it’s an ebook of Sexual Personae [1990] by Camille Paglia that was absolutely not pirated. I keep quite a few books on my computer—not to share with my friends or anything, because that is probably illegal to do!
What’s the weirdest thing in your Figma right now?
I’m currently workshopping the Halloween costume I’m trying to design and sew at the last minute. I made some mockups because I was struggling with visualizing my idea, and they ended up looking a bit odd!
What’s a screenshot you’ve saved but forgot why?
I had this fuzzy memory of a game I used to play on my P.S.P. that was like a story mode version of Sims with chihuahua werewolves, aliens, and a cow god. I kept asking around if anyone knows it and kept receiving only concerned stares in return. In 2024, I found the game and managed to play it on a P.S.P. emulator. I forget why I saved this exact screenshot of it, but I must have about 50 others to document that the game actually existed.
How many browser tabs do you currently have open?
The only tabs I have open right now are for the extensive inspiration and research I’m collecting for my Halloween costume—it’s a secret. By research, I mean just looking around for pictures because it’s not exactly going to be a magnum opus. One of my inspo has been Erik Charlotte’s designs, as seen in this open Pinterest tab!
Show us the last thing you made just for yourself.
I saw this stupid looking Sonic the Hedgehog on my trip to Japan in April, and I actually cried. I don’t even know why, he just looks so overwhelmed. I got really emotional and bought him straight away. Ever since, I have taken him everywhere and document his experience (mostly) on my digital camera.
